National Award Winner

December 5th, 2008

Creation Cafe founder and Creative Director was recently the recipient of some great news.  Morrison’s photography titled “Simply Southern Jubilee” won First Place in the People on Battlefields category.  This contest was held via the Civil War Preservation & Trust.  The event is co-sponsored by History (formerly The History Channel) and the Center for Civil War Photography.

“To win any award and to see your work published is always a thrill,” said Morrison. “However, to win on a national level, with such qualified judges, raises the game to an entirely different level and makes this very special for me.”

The photo was taken at Nash Farm during the Simply Southern Jubilee Civil War re-enactment event.

In addition to receiving a plaque commemorating the event, Morrison’s photo was also published in the Winter 2008 issue of Hallowed Ground Magazine.
